It is Wednesday afternoon. What was I doing one week ago? I remember: sun bathing at Grand Oasis Riviera Maya.

I have to admit that the decision to book a vacation by the Caribbean Sea has been influenced by the many friends who spent their vacations there. There was a chorus of voices telling us that we are going to enjoy it, but before leaving Vancouver I was a bit skeptical of that. I am not used to going anywhere without a big party… Our vacations by the lakes, on the islands or on the mountains were together with our children, their friends and/or our friends. This time around nobody was available to join us: Horatiu is on the other side of the pond, Cristi was having exams, and our friends were not ready for a vacation at the beginning of April. So, here we are: Gelu and Elena going somewhere, for a week, just the two of them…

(I am not going to tell you about the adventure of catching the airplane to Cancun, but I will tell you that only when I woke up the next day at the hotel I could feel that I am relaxed and believe that I am there…)

It has been a very good experience, a vacation I will recommend. Even though at times I was thinking about bringing our kids and friends with us next time around, I really enjoyed being there with Gelu alone.

Can you imagine a life with no worries except booking the next dinner and renewing the sun block? That was it! Or, maybe one more: to hydrate oneself. Therefore, one of us had to do some trips to the bar to get us new beers!
